• Review: Eat Smart Precision Voyager

My regular readers know I’m a huge fan of Eat Smart products. They are fantastic about combining quality with practicality. While all the other products I’ve reviewed have been useful for cooking and weight loss or maintainence, this product is a little off-beat. It actually doesn’t even apply to health and weight loss, but it’s a cool item nonetheless and I wanted to tell you about it.

Father’s Day is fast approaching. If you have a Dad that travels frequently, then this may just be the ulitmate Father’s Day gift. The Eat Smart Precision Voyager Digital Luggage Scale is, to put it simply, pretty dang cool. With almost all airlines charging for checked luggage, and all of them charging for exceeding the maximum weight limit, this is a tool no traveler should be without.

We recently took a trip to Las Vegas. Packing for four people, for five days, was a chore. We knew we’d have to have at least one checked bag. At $20 – $30 per bag, each way, we knew we need to do this as efficiently as possible. Thanks to the Eat Smart Precision Voyager, we didn’t have to play guessing games. We packed the big suitcase with anything we knew wouldn’t fit, or be acceptable, in a carry-on and then used the Voyager to see what it weighed. We were at 43 lbs. Now we knew that not only would we be under the limit, but we had some room for bringing souvaniers back too! (The manuel recommends staying under 1 lb of the maximum weight so you can account for packing your scale after you’ve used it.) This worked out great for us, as we had to rearrange a few things before the trip back. This scale saved us a lot of hassle.

It’s so simple to use, even a child can do it. As a matter of fact, my kids thought it was so cool they wanted to see what their carry-on bags weighed too.  All you do is clip the buckle around your luggage handle, then allow the strap to dangle loosely below the scale. Press the on button, wait for zero, select your unit of measurement (if it’s not already where you want it), and firmly lift your luggage with two hands (obviously you are lifting with the scale, not the luggage handle). Once you hear the beep, put down the luggage and read the weight.

This is a great gift for any frequent flyer and I highly recommend it. Even if you don’t fly, your back will thank you for this handy little item. Who wants to lug around a suitcase that weighs more than they do? I give this a full 5 stars. It’s simple. It’s practical. It’s efficient. And it’s also a steal at Amazon’s current price of $19.95. Just like all the other scales I’ve tried from Eat Smart, this scale is outstanding! Over 40 reviewers on Amazon agree with me. Don’t wait. Go get one.

Wouldn’t hurt to edit your blog posts, would it?

    Mahoi,

I’m assuming you are speaking of proofreading. I do my best, but after looking at a post for a long time, I tend to miss things on occasion. And since I don’t have an editor to catch the things I miss, I have to just do what I can in what little time I have. (Wow. I’m human. Waddayaknow!)  I do this to help others, for free, so I’m sure I can be forgiven the occasional typo. :)
