LC Homestyles Chicken Chili with Beans

It’s really difficult to find convienince foods that are compatible with the low-carb lifestyle. In July of 2010 I told you about a beef chili from LC Homestyles that was not only convenient, but tasted good and wasn’t loaded with all kinds of junk. A rarity in any microwave meal. Today I want to tell you about a sibling of the beef chili – LC Homestyles Chicken Chili with Beans.

Much like the beef version, this chili is easy, quick and tasty. In under 2 minutes you have a piping hot bowl of chicken chili from the microwave. Or if you prefer, use the stovetop, which only adds a few more minutes to the cooking time. Either way you won’t have to wait long for a delicious and statisfying meal. With 24 grams of protein and 5 net carbs, this is certainly one of the better convienence options available. I’ll be completely candid here and tell you that I like LC Homestyles Beef Chili the best, but if you are a fan of chicken chili, this should certianly do the trick.

INGREDIENTS: WATER, COOKED CHICKEN (CHICKEN, WATER, MODIFIED RICE STARCH, SALT, SOY PROTEIN ISOLATE, SODIUM PHOSPHATE), SOYBEANS, TOMATOES, (TOMATOES JUICE, CITRIC ACID, CALCIUM CHLORIDE), CELERY, GREEN BELL PEPPER, SOY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, OAT FIBER, CHILI POWDER (CHILI PEPPER, SPICES, SALT), GARLIC, CHICKEN FLAVOR (YEAST EXTRACT, SALT, SUGAR, DRIED CHICKEN MEAT, SOY FLOUR, TORULA YEAST), GUAR GUM, SALT, SPICE.

This one has more soy that the beef version, and the ingredient list is a little longer, so I give this 4 stars. To sum it up: It tastes good and is perfect for those of us who tend to run on a tight schedule.
