LC Foods has been cranking out the good stuff for quite a while now. Last night I had the chance to try one of their newer creations – the LC-Banana Bread. If I had to sum this review up in one word? Good.
It’s pretty easy to put together and requires ingredients any low-carber will easily have access too, such as eggs, butter, etc. The texture and taste isn’t exactly like the high-carb version, but I’m impressed with it anyway. It’s dense and has that nice banana flavor that makes this specific type of bread stand out from other dessert breads. The ingredient list is kind of lengthy, but then that’s to be expected in a product like this. I’m happy to say that there are no sugar alcohols involved, so I won’t spend the day with tummy rumbles. However, these are not gluten free, so those avoiding gluten, consider yourself warned. There are also a few ingredients that might be consisdered controversial, depending on what plan you are on. As always, this kind of product is a personal choice and you have to decide what is best for you and your nutritional needs.
The best part about this delicious bread is that it’s only 1 net carb per slice. You could seriously eat the whole loaf and only have 12 net carbs. Obviously that’s not a good idea, but still – it’s nice to know it’s not really going to put a dent in your carb budget. I recommend this for holidays, get-togethers and any other special occassion that normally calls for a treat.
