  • It was a great read...I agree with your points about the Low-Fat dieters being happier because they still enjoy their comfort foods...
  • I have tried Atkins Diet, South Beach Diet and other forms of Low Carb diet. They are all good for the general health and for maintaining a healthy weight.

Thanks for your comment! I agree, just about any low-carb diet will be beneficial.

  • Hello, pleasant and explanatory article. I wish to add a few notices. If you have tight cholesterol, then you may inquire, will a low fat diet lower cholesterol? This is a indispensable question, because it is a good known fact that the most working way to lower cholesterol is through diet. For Certain one component of a diet for lowering cholesterol will include being low in fat. Simply this is simply part of the report. It is master to clear that it is the saturated fattens that you want to eliminate it from the foods you take.

    Hi,
Just to clarify some points I think you were making. (Forgive me if I misunderstood your comment.) High cholesterol numbers mean diddly squat. It's not cholesterol that kills. If anything studies have show that more people die with low cholesterol than high. Saturated fat is healthy and there is NOT ONE study that proves otherwise. It's all speculation and circumstantial evidence that is not rooted in fact, but in headstrong stubborn refusal to drop pre-conceived agendas and propaganda. Keys famous study was junk science and he was only out to make a name for himself. Real science considers all the facts and doesn't throw away data that doesn't support a scientists theory.

I agree it's just one study, and a poorly conducted one at that.
Congrats on your success and thanks for your comment and readership!

It's just one study, so I don't put much stock in it.

Before the eating ever began, the low-carb group had twice as many people taking antidepressants.

So the researchers may have been comparing apples to oranges.

[FYI, I've been eating very low-carb since Sept 1. Neither I nor my housemates have noticed a change in mood either way. But my weight's gone from 170 to 155 lb.]
