• LC Foods lip-smackin’ preserves

If you’re a fan of preserves, you are going to want to pay close attention to what I have to say next. LC Foods has recently come out with four flavors of low-carb preserves. I had the opprotunity to try two of them this weekend and they are nothing short of amazing.

The LC-Bluberry Preserves remind me of something right out of grandma’s kitchen. The texture is great for spreading and it tastes fresh and perfectly sweetened. The LC-Peach Preserves are, in a word, phenominal. Coming from me, that’s something, because I’ve never really cared for peaches much. But I dearly love this stuff. I kept trying to find something new to try it with all weekend. My husband did nothing but rave about how amazing it was as well. He’s even talking about putting some in a small container so he can take it with him when he’s on the road.

I also like the ingredient list. It has the basics and really nothing more. It does have maltodextrin, but otherwise, I can’t really complain.

Besides blueberry and peach, you can also find these in strawberry and blackberry.

With only 1.2 carbs per serving, there is no reason to avoid preserves any longer. I’m guessing you’re biggest dilema will be figuring out what to eat it on, since bread is generally out of the picture. But keep in mind that preserves aren’t just for toast! These would make an amazing glaze or filling. I can see any of these gracing the top of a low-carb cheesecake. And bread-ish items can be an option, if you are using a low-carb version. LC Foods has a variety of low-carb bake mixes for muffings, bread, cakes, etc. So if you don’t have a problem with these kinds of products, you could really enjoy an occassional treat without any guilt and very few carbs.

I give these products 5 stars. The taste is beyond fantastic and it’s a nice change from the norm. As always, keep in mind that these kinds of products are meant for occassional use. These should enhance your meal planning, but not be a mainstay.

Disclosure: I received samples of these products to review. I received no compensation for writing this review and do not get commissions from sales of this product. This review is my honest opinion and nothing more.

Can always make alternative flour breads, like flax bread, coconut bread, etc. http://www.genaw.com has TONS of “bread” recipes. Thanks for the tips on the preserves, they sound great!
