May 14, 2007

I thought I’d start posting my menu, exercise, etc. in a daily post, as well as weigh-in and such. So here is today so far. I’ll update as the day progresses.

B: EAS Protein shake – 2 carbs
Water: 16 ounces
Exercise:
Treadmill – 33 minutes, 150 cals burned, 1.25 miles walked
Pilates – 10 minute ab workout

I’ll post my lunch, dinner, etc. after the fact. By the end of the day I should have this completed, so just look for the updates, in this same post, if you want the whole story.

Now you may be thinking 10 minute ab workout? That’s not much! Well that’s the beauty of Pilates. It doesn’t take much to get a good workout. If anyone is interested in trying it, I have a great DVD that I use for my workouts by CRUNCH called Pick Your Spot Pilates. The are simple, but effective 10 minutes workouts for your belly, buttocks and thighs. I found mine at Wal-Mart for less than $15 a couple of years ago. I think it may be even less now.

UPDATE #1

Lunch: low-carb taco salad – 5 carbs, 1 can Diet Rite
Supplements: Serenity, Multi-vitamin, calcium, chromium, fish-oil

UPDATE #2

Dinner: Green Chili and Jack Chicken, small salad w/ranch dressing – 7 carbs
Water total for the day: 64 ounces

I caved in to the temptation of my husband’s sugar-free chocolate chip cookies. They were small, but I had 4. UGH. I have no idea how many carbs are in those. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Blogging on hold and update

NOTE: (12-7-2009) If you have reached this post by going to www.healthylowcarbliving.com/blog I apologize. My whole website went bizerk and now this is messed up. This post is from 2007. We have had to rework things and you will currently find the main page at www.healthylowcarbliving.com. THANKS AND SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION!

I’m having to put my blogging on hold for a few days. I may be able to get back to it as soon as Wednesday, but I’m not promising anything. This is my children’s last week of school and I’m up to my eyeballs in things to get ready for.

I’m back to eating well. Today has been as follows:

Breakfast: protein shake
Snack: Hood LC milk
Lunch: LC chicken salad
Snack: protein shake
Dinner: (will be) small portion of Dreamfields spaghetti w/my homemade meat sauce and small salad.

I’ve been enjoying decaf tea today instead of my usual Diet Rite. I’m using Lipton’s Cold Brew tea, which tastes great and only takes 3 minutes to fix. I’m all for quick and simple right now.

My treadmill has been sadly neglected lately. I’m going to get all the paperwork cleared off of it so I can walk on it again (it’s become a second desk the last week or so). Today I’ll get my walking in when the repair shop calls to say my car is ready. I have to walk there to pick it up. It’s probably less than a mile, so not a huge amount of exercise, but certainly more than I’ve gotten in a week or so!

I’m currently working off about 4 lbs that I’ve gained since Vegas. I guess I can’t say that it’s water anymore. Some may be since I’ve been bouncing up and down, but I’m not gonna worry either way. One thing I learned last time: It will happen if I’m patient. The benefit to losing slowly, compared to faster loss, is that my skin isn’t lose or saggy. Exercise helps with that too, but last time my exercise consisted of walking now and then, nothing regular. I lost 50 lbs in just over a year.. and didn’t have any lose skin because it came of slowly and allowed my body to adjust as I went.

Have a great day all!

I knew this was coming someday…

I knew Ronald would flip out and get himself arrested. It’s all those Big Macs and other carby foods – they just incite criminal behavior. :0)

Actually, this picture came from an article I found today. They apparently found Mr. McDonald hanging by his neck from a tree, as show below:

Some kids were playing a prank and the police were called to take care of it. Personally, I don’t think it was a prank. I think it was a low-carber, someone like me maybe, who just couldn’t take the temptation of those stupid fries any more and took their frustrations out on dear old Ronny.
