Win Jonny Bowden’s Living Low Carb

Ann Louise Gittleman, author of The Fat Flush Plan, when speaking of Jonny Bowdens book Living Low Carb, says “If there’s anything you want to know about low-carbing, this is the book for you! Jonny Bowden has created an invaluale and encyclopedic health resource that belongs on every shelf.” I couldn’t agree more.

Living Low Carb is probably the most comprehensive book about the various low carb diets you will find, analyzing and comparing 38 well-known diet plans and fitness programs. Making this book even more valuable is all the great information Mr. Bowden has packed into his writing as well. From the origins of low carb living all the way to great modern day low carb resources, it’s all in there. I especially love how he gets into the science of low carb living. He explains how it works and why today’s SAD (Standard American Diet) recommendation of  low fat, high carbohydrate living is counterproductive to what we are trying to accomplish.

If you are worried about all those horrible ailments people say you’ll end up with if you follow a low carb regimine, worry no more. Jonny breaks down those myths and stomps on them with a large steel-toed boot, leaving them for dead in crumpled bits. You can’t argue with science this solid.  He also offers tips and tricks or maintaining your low-carb lifestyle, as well as some fantastic ways to beat those obstacles that might be holding you back.

This book is now among those on my essentials list. Whether you are new to low carb living, or have been doing it for years, as I have, you won’t regret owning this wonderful book.

Interesting Tid-Bits

I recently saw a headline about yet another celebrity using a low-carb diet. While I normally wouldn’t give a rats rear end about what celebrities are doing, if they are representing low-carb living, I tend to sit up and take notice.  I wrote my thoughts about this in today’s examiner column:

Kim Kardashian starts low carb diet

Another article I saw today really caught my attention was by Dr. Briffa regarding natural strategies for improving sleep. As someone who tends to have sleep issues more often than not, I was glad to read his recommendations.

Feel free to send me your thoughts in the comments section or in an email.

I’ll be back later with some more info on all the great prizes in our giveaway!

Alan Watson Interview

Many of you may remember the review I did of Alan Watson’s wonderfully informative book Cereal Killer. If you haven’t yet read this book, I highly recommend it.

Jimmy Moore recently interviewed Alan on his podcast and it’s a great listen, so please go check it out and enjoy!
